Of the two peripheries, the one on the left is Ibusuki city. It takes about 52 minutes
by limited express
train or 90 minutes by car from Kagoshima Chuo Station,
in the center of Kagoshima Prefecture, to reach
retropical Ibusuki!

Day 1
In addition to shopping for Ibusuki specialty products, at restaurant Kanon, visitors can sample cuisine using fish caught fresh from Kagoshima Bay.
Day 2
A natural and traditional cooking stove “Sume” that utilizes steam from the gushing thermal spring. Bring your own vegetables and eggs to experience this unique steamed cooking.
Ibukara, a collaboration of deep-fried chicken and Ibusuki’s specialty dried bonito, is an
exquisite dish that can only be experienced here!
On a clear day, you can even see as far as the islands of Yakushima, Takeshima, and Iwo Jima. Take a commemorative photo capturing the lighthouse and the heart artwork.
The cafe can be found in a corner of this tropical fruit cultivation facility. Popular menu items include the Tamatebako Parfait and the Mango Shirokuma.
The hot sand baths here are surrounded by majestic nature with a view of Mt. Kaimon and the
East China Sea.
The open-air hot spring with a spectacular view was ranked No. 1 for four consecutive years on
a popular review site. Male and female visitors can delight in different views on different
days.

Day 3
It takes about 75 minutes by high-speed boat to reach the island of Yakushima, a World Natural Heritage site! Book tickets and travel to Yakushima in comfort.
For sightseeing in Ibusuki, we also recommend a fixed fare sightseeing cab or the Kantakun cab from the station, which is exclusively available from the General Tourist Information Center in JR Ibusuki Station. No advance booking required for up to 4 passengers. Simply inform the staff at the Ibusuki Station Tourist Information Center.

The world's first Pokémon utility hole covers (Poké Lids) featuring Eevee and its evolutions have been installed in Ibusuki. The idea was inspired by the similarity in pronunciation between “Eevee suki” (which means “I love Eevee” in Japanese) and "Ibusuki". This is a circular course where you can enjoy Ibusuki's cuisine and tourist attractions while visiting the 9 Poké Lids located in Ibusuki.

Over March - October, cross the sand road that appears only at low tide during spring and half tide to visit the island of matchmaking.

Day 1
This popular JR Kyushu sightseeing train runs from Kagoshima Chuo Station to Ibusuki Station. Sightseeing information and on-board sales services are also available from the crew.
※All seating is reserved, so please be sure to reserve in advance.
You can have your luggage delivered ahead of time straight to your hotel. Recommended for those who want to start sightseeing as soon as they arrive in Ibusuki.
Ibusuki city is Japan's largest producer of honkarebonbushi bonito, which is used in high-end, long-established restaurants. This lavish ramen is prepared with a generous amount of honkarebonbushi.
This shrine is dedicated to the Princess of the Dragon Palace from the Japanese legend “Urashima Taro.” We also recommend trying a seashell prayer, where you write your wish on a seashell and dedicate it to the gods.
JR Japan's southernmost station, where you can admire Mt. Kaimon, known as Satsuma Fuji, right before your eyes. The lucky yellow post box is also popular. It is also well worth purchasing postcards at Kyutaro Shoten across the street and posting them.
Natural hot sand baths created by a volcano. They also boast detoxifying properties and are popular among foreigners as Japanese-style saunas.
Day 2
This is easily the largest lake formed by a volcano in Kyushu. Visitors can enjoy cafes, souvenir stores, activity facilities, and seasonal flowers, including sunflowers in summer, rape blossoms in winter, and a spectacular view of Mt. Kaimon.
Try the spinning somen-nagashi that originated in Ibusuki, where you scoop and eat the somen noodles as they flow down the revolving chute.
Seafood unique to the port city and other Ibusuki goods are available for purchase.The ever-popular katsuo-yaki (fried bonito) is sold only from October to April.
